Bio

I was born in Covilhã and currently reside in a nearby village. I hold a degree in Archaeology, but even during my studies, I discovered a deep passion for creating with my hands. This passion led to the birth of Pedra Formosa, a project initially driven by the desire to reinterpret Iberian Peninsula rock art in a contemporary way, through decorative pieces and accessories like necklaces and earrings. Driven by curiosity and a constant desire to learn, I am always exploring new materials and processes, seeking creative ways to integrate them into my work. This eagerness to experiment and evolve has allowed my project to grow and transform over time, expanding beyond its original focus on rock art. Today, Pedra Formosa is much more than a tribute to the past. I create decorative pieces and jewelry inspired by archaeological findings, nature, and folklore, using a diverse range of materials, including wood, amber, stone, cork, canvas, clay, bone, antlers, and more. My commitment to using natural materials reflects a deep connection to ancient traditions, which are reinterpreted and given new life in the present. Each piece I create is the result of a journey of exploration and learning, where the past meets the present, resulting in authentic creations that honor history and the essence of the earth.
