Bio

Lara Koseff is an independent arts professional based in Johannesburg, South Africa. She co-founded INCCA (Independent Network for Contemporary Culture & Art) with Londi Modiko and Nthabiseng Mokoena, a non-profit company that aims to foster independent cultural practice. INCCA grew out of numerous projects supporting independent creatives, including the UNDERLINE show at the Museum of African Design, Johannesburg in 2019. From 2010 to 2018, Koseff worked at Goodman Gallery, Johannesburg, where she served primarily as a senior curator and liaison for numerous artists. She was involved in the launch of SOUTH SOUTH, a curatorial project initiated by Goodman Gallery – which in 2021 evolved into a collaborative platform – exploring connections across and constructions of the Global South. She most recently worked on the platform as a project coordinator, and continues to consult on the initiative. Her curatorial work has included projects in South Africa, Brazil, Portugal, and Argentina, and collaborations with artists including Grada Kilomba, Ghada Amer, and Reza Farkhondeh, Paulo Nazareth, among others. Koseff has edited, compiled and contributed to numerous publications on contemporary art and has written regularly for publications such as the Sunday Times in South Africa.
